Cannabinoids may someday treat brain tumors by cutting off their blood supply. Cancer cells feed themselves by remodeling the blood vessels around them. New research suggests that some cannabinoids inhibit a major vascular growth factor secreted by glioblastoma tumors. Researchers hope that blocking vascular epithelial growth factor will selectively starve cancer cells without harming normal tissue.[BBC]
