Furries and shapeshifters for Christ
I was trying to write an essay defending public reason, but I got sidetracked by this gem from PZ Myers, via Pagan Prattle....
Molatar Seth Pyragent has a very special ministry:
This site is dedicated to spreading the Gospel in the werewolf and furry communities. It is my hope that many trans-species people will accept Jesus as their Savior through this ministry. I will explain the etymology of this website's name. I got the idea from Werewolf Tobias' tradition of calling a werewolf stronghold a House. Well, I'm a dragon, so my ideal stronghold would be a Castle. And since this is MY website where I am MASTER, I call this my Castle. [...]
You cannot make yourself righteous and holy on your own. Only Jesus can do that for you. If you are dissatisfied with attempting to be good through your own deeds and find yourself still enslaved to sin, then its time to choose Jesus as your Savior. If you are interested in becoming a Christian, please click on the salvation link to the left. Dear visitor, if you are trans-species, I can sympathize with you. I too know the shame and anger about being trapped in a powerless and ugly human body. If you desire a shape-shift, please click on the P-shift essay link to your left and I will guide you. If you desire clarification of God's Word, please click on the salvation, essay, and bibliography links provided at left.
Molatar's vision of bio-theological unity is having an impact well beyond the furry community. Kriston of Grammar Police:
Rarely will you see that sort of good-faith, transmythotaxonomic evangelism in this day and age (though Molatar exhibits an unfortunately traditional dragon bias in disparaging members of the undead community). You'll want to bookmark this one.
See? We're already getting more comfortable with the language of faith! I guess sometimes it takes a Dragon to teach an old Donkey new tricks.

Ummm... okay.

While I enjoy a comic whose protagonist is an anthropomorphized wombat, her author has indicated that wombats are vigorous believers in evolution.

Honestly, I can't imagine Christ accepting werewolves because aren't they the spawn of the "devil"? Even so, it all depends on what you believe. Becoming a werewolf guarantees that Christianity cannot be your afterlife because you have dealt with DEMONS.
