Here's the tiniest violin in the world, playing just for you

Posted by Thad

Michael Brown sent a "candid" email to friends and family, complaining about the treatment he's been getting in the press.

The best part is, someone in Brownie's inner circle leaked the email to the press:

"I don't mind the negative press (well, actually, I do, but I try to ignore it) but it is really wearing out the family," Brown wrote. "No wonder people don't go into public service. This country is devouring itself, the 24-hour news cycle is numbing our ability to think for ourselves," the Rocky Mountain News reported Saturday.

Andrew -- I TinyURL'd it. Should be working now.

Thanks.
I can’t believe that shmuck, “he doesn’t believe this as a human being” The way all those New Orleansians deserved his incompetence?

"No wonder people don't go into public service" seems kind of sadly telling to me. Apparently his circle doesn't include a lot of civil servants - which means no civil engineers, no city planners, no transportation infrastructure professionals - none of the people you should know intimately across the board before you're considered for a job answering the phones at FEMA.

People are dying, and this guy's doing the "woe is me" bit!

Well, things could be worse. He could have DROWNED.

That's why his new nickname is "Drownie".

I am absolutely sure nobody would have cared what he did in his career if it had remained on the same unambiguously meaningless, meandering course it had taken prior to 2001. He should have done all of us a favor when asked to take a patronage job for which he was totally unqualified and turned it down.
