So the plan is to smear Dems as sexists and elitists when they say Miers is unqualified? This will be interesting.

My number one concern on reading about this: is her name pronounced "Meers" or "My-ers"? If I have to hear my last name mentioned with every unqualified incompetence for the next few weeks, months, or (oh, no) years, I'm not going to be able to watch tv or listen to the radio.

The Today show (my roommate was watching; I swear I've never seen it before) called her "My-ers" this morning, but then again, they seemed just as befuddled and confused as everyone else so far, so they could have gotten it wrong. Sure looks like "Meers" to me. Could we have a rule against Supreme Court justices who don't know how to pronounce their own names?

Meers is Texan for Miers.
