Do you know what the pinkish surface at the bottom right-hand corner is?

It's the freaking eyes, from a distance it's the motion that fucks with an archnophobe's head, but up close it's those freaking inhuman, monstrous eyes.
The two big ones utilise a similar system of multiple rotating lens for focusing as cameras and binoculars do, there's some very interesting anatomical mechanics on a spider.

Looks like it might be a fingertip

Great pic! These little guys are fun to try to take photos of "in the wild". They are so aware of their world it's scary. Absolutely fearless too. Tigers the size of aspirins. We should be glad they aren't the size of poodles!

I love jumping spiders. However, one of my favourite spiders is another type, but I can't remember the name. It's nearly blind, but it hunts other spiders... by touch. It has such sensitive touch that it was sneak up on a spider, touch it to see where it is, and then hits it with a paralyzing web. Too cool.

I think it's kind of cute.

Thanks for the pic of my favorite spider. I once witnessed a jumping spider leap several inches to attack a cockroach--ever since then they have been my arachnid hero/ines.
