Welcome, Jasper Bickle!

Img_0031 Congratulations to my dear friends Jen and John Bickle on the arrival of their first child, Jasper!

Jasper joined the esteemed ranks of Canadians at 23:50pm on Friday, April 20th, 2007.  He weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 20 inches.

I'm very pleased to report that the whole family is elated, if tired.

Judging by the adorable preliminary baby pictures, little Jasper has inherited the radiant smiles of his parents.

Who?

Jen and John are very good friends of mine.

I grew up with Jen in Vancouver. She married John about a year before I started blogging.

Now they're celebrating the birth of their first child. I'm so happy for them.

Why, that looks just like my own radiant smile!

Congratulations to the parents; he's beautiful.

The father is Johm Bickle the neurophilosopher?
Beautiful baby in any case.

No Dabodius, this John Bickle is a software engineer in Montreal.

Thanks, Suzib. He certainly did his part in engineering a lovely child.

Whee! Eight days old and already making his presence known in the blogosphere! Thank you, Lindsay.

John, ever the good Canadian, wants the metrically minded to know that Jasper's weight was 3.675kg, and his length 51cm.

Oh, and he also has a middle name now: Solomon.

A serious thinker, no doubt.

OMG - He's so sweet!
I love babies. They're just chock full of good intentions and potential.

Very cute commentary. My best friend is Canadian ... (what's wrong with you 'murricans' LOL!!)
What a boon to have a dual-citizenship.
BUT: what I came to say is: THAT, without a doubt, is one of the sweetest, most intelligent and peaceful faces I have ever seen. I love solomon.
My Mom said it best: Make your sacrifices while they are young; you never get the second chance there. Spend the time. Time is all they really want from you.
And from my cousin: Each age is better. You think you miss something and stumble forward missing it ... then suddenly the light shines on the new cool thing.
It's the best thing you'll ever do.
Enjoy !!
Gives me hope, it does.
Thanks for sharing.
