One blink at the picture and I was just going to say "money shot". You are getting pretty good at this, Lindsay.
Now if you could just be at the right place the next time this administration tries to delete some more evidence of its skulduggery :(

Reverend Al, a complete clown and a monkey to boot, but he actually seems less of a dimwit than the proprietor of this weblog.

db
Thats out of bounds.
Sharpton should have been imprisoned years ago for his various racial hijinks, incl Tawana Brawley, Crown Heights, Freddy's on 125th Street ( the latter two in which people died ) but the use of the term "monkey" is way out of line. If I were the proprietor here, I'd delete that.
Please go play in the traffic. You and Sharpton.

Yes, I agree with The Phantom, regarding db. I disagree with the Reverend perhaps 99% of the time but I admire his courage and his willingness to take a leadership role. Anyone who takes a leadership role is gong to be a target of criticism including "the proprietor of this weblog". Regarding the Sean Bell case, it's heart-breaking from almost any point of view. I haven't been following the case but I would be wary of second-guessing anyone on what must have been a confusing situation - Don't underestimate the power of hindsight bias.

this reminds me of an exchange that took place in another new york jail. ralph emerson was visiting thoreau who was jailed for refusing induction during the civil war. emerson said "well david, what are you doing in here?" thoreau looked at him and said "the question my dear emerson is what are you doing out there?"
bravo to the reverend sharpton.

Nice shot Lindsay.

If you say "Bravo" to Sharpton, then you might also say "Bravo to the killing of Sean Bell". Because Sharpton, who has made his bones on racial incidents, has also been an absolutely a prime mover in creating the atmosphere for the racially motivated killings of eight people in not-so-distant NYC history. Oh, yeah, the Tawana thing too. Bravo indeed.
Read this carefully You'll not be hearing this in your NY Times.

Lindsay,
What a shot! What brand and model camera? Lens?
Posted by: Norman Costa | May 08, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Norman, it's a Canon 20D with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens. I climbed up on a fence on the median to get the shot.
If you click through to the Flickr page, you can see all the EXIF data for the shot by clicking on a link on the right hand side of the page.

db and 'db' wannabes,
Please, when you are visiting someone else's home, show a minimum of regard for your host. Opine and criticize all you like, but don't diminish your own views with a blatant display of abject disrespect.

What a terrific shot, Lindsay; well done.

awesome. I've often wanted to inquire what camera you use. Do you use different ones? Was afraid it might be a 'trick of the trade' .. some like to guard their secrets. Though you have never struck me as less than generous with your knowledge. THANKS !!!
Also, I wanted to add that while I respect this move of Sharpton's I have to agree with 'some' of the above (but not with malice) ..
My feeling on it is that if I saw him out at Impeachment and END THIS FUCKING ILLEGAL WAR(s) rallies, I'd have been standing right there next to him.
I won't support any of these small group things anymore until they support the bigger picture.
NONE of this stuff could be perped on the American people if we TOOK THE BULL BY THE HORNS and legally and peacefully rid ourselves of the BUSHCO regime.
Or, after seven years it it STILLL a waste of time? I think he can do quite a lot in eight months.
