Indict Chalabi

chalabi
Mark A.R. Kleiman asks if there's any good reason why we shouldn't indict Ahmed Chalabi. We know that Chalabi lied to US intelligence agents. Kleiman notes that "18 USC 1001 makes it a felony to make a false statement or otherwise deceive the government of the United States," and that Chalabi has lost all claim to diplomatic immunity.

Maybe we can also find a way to indict the people who trusted Chalabi in the first place. Chalabi is a career con man, whose nefarious past has been well known for a long time.: [Click to view full-sized image, courtesy of the brilliant Ugga Bugga.]
