What Blogs Have Wrought
From the September 27, 2004 issue:
How the guys sitting at their computers in pajamas humiliated the suits at CBS News

Despite all this, there were still lefty bloggers out in the fever swamps who refused to believe that the documents had been forged. Lindsay Beyerstein continued making attacks on the Washington Post blockbuster and then, when they came forward, on the document experts who told CBS not to use the memos. "Notice how this bullshit comes in waves?" Beyerstein sneered. "One claims that she sent an email to CBS urging them not to go ahead with the story because she had doubts about the memos' authenticity. I'd like to see that email."
The Internet is filled with all sorts of crazy stuff these days. Just ask Dan Rather.
Jonathan V. Last is online editor of The Weekly Standard.
Here's the post that Last singled out as an example of crazytalk on the net.
Congrats..er.. I think. Either way, the spike in traffic isn't all that bad.

Do you still feel the same way about the memos, Majikrurhe?

Hell, I still OJ is innocent. Or rather, his guilt is "not proved." Not sure about the WMD's or al Qaeda connections, either. I live in a world of probabilities, and a statement like: "The memos are forged." simply offends me.
I wonder why so many people prefer the above to: "The memos are probably forged."

I read your stuff, I read Weekly Standard. Sorry, you are not logical as Spock would say. I agree with Last in his conclusion that most of the weblogers are conservative. Did you note that the Guard LC today denied giving Bush any special consideration to get into the guard? Another conservative tactic, right? why can't you look at Bush's record in the Guard and admit that he had a great record. One year he earned over 200 points. I support Bush and hope Rather is fired and humiliated this week.

If "trying too hard" was a single word, the phrase above would be referenced in the Merriam-Webster's definition.

I read your post as suggested. Yes I remember how Hodges changed his story. He said CBS didn't show him the memos, but read them over the phone, giving him the impression they were handwritten. (Remember, Killian didn't type.) If they were in Killian's handwriting he would have to believe them. Sounds like CBS is either sloppy or deceitful. To Bob(who still thinks OJ is innocent), yes sometimes its hard to tell truth from fiction, but if I offered you some really bad counterfeit money would you trade me some of your hard earned cash for it? Even in this world of probabilities you live in, I'll bet you wouldn't do it. I think it's safe to say the memos are forged. (I know, I know. Then Karl Rove did it.)
