Definitely there's a smell in New Orleans that has nothing to do with the flood of sewage and chemicals. I am getting increasingly concerned about the behavior of the American Red Cross. Even before Hurricane Katrina was finished her diry work, The Canadian Red Cross was gathering together it's most experienced, trained volunteers, ready to serve in affected areas. What happened to those volunteers? Were they ever deployed? Why is the American Red Croos putting out a call for 40,000 volunteers when it already has a pool of ready and able, well trained volunteers who have already agreed to work in the areas that have now been damaged, by not one hurricane but two?
