DeLay perp walk album going up
Click here for more pictures of the Tom DeLay Perp Walk. Click to read Amanda's eyewitness account of the Blessed Event.
For me, this photograph was the most satisfying: It's not the best picture I took, but the moment was priceless. It shows Dick DeGuerin and his entourage approaching the building from the side street just before the hearing. They probably walked to the court house from the nearby office of a local Republican attorney.
Most of the rest of the press were gathered around the front entrance to the new court house. DeLay himself snuck in through the back door, according to Amanda's sources.
I was the first photographer to spot DeGuerin in his cowboy hat striding towards the court house on foot. So, I was able to get a running start into the scrum that materialized around him.
the shaven headed guy in "perpwalk_2" looks remarkably like Gannon/Guckert.

Delay - Gigante - Cirillo
Charlie Ray and Maxine Delay of Corpus Christi, Texas announce the engagement of their son Thomas Dale DeLay to Vincent "Chin" Gigante and Dominick "Quiet Dom" Cirillo of Ossining, New York. Mr. Gigante's and Mr. Cirillo's parents sleep with the fishes.
Mr. Delay was graduated from Corpus Christi's Calallen High School in 1965 and from the University of Houston in 1970 with a BS in Biology. He is currently on sabbatical leave from the U.S. House of Representatives where he served as Majority Leader from 2002-2005.
Mr. Gigante is a union representative and physical therapist. Mr. Cirillo is a lending specialist with Genovese Family Insurance of Brooklyn, New York. They attended the Spofford Detention Center, Department of Juvenile Justice, Bronx, New York and later the George Motchan Detention Center, Rikers Island, Bronx, New York.
A fall 2005 wedding is planned.

These pictures are awesome. Congratulations!
I have such an easily provoked knee-jerk reaction against cowboy hats.

Lindsay:
Is the lawyer a scum just because he is defending DeLay, or is he a scum because he has done other "questionable" things?
The reason I ask is because it would seem fallacious to label him scum just because of who his client is. Everyone is entitled to counsel in our Country, regardless of whether its a filthy criminal like Tom DeLay or your run-of-the-mill child molester. Being a part of the constitution in action does not (automatically) make one scum.
However, the cowboy hat might just be enough to constitute an authentic "scrum" magnet... lol.

DeGuerin is scum because he lies in court. He said that MoveOn.org was selling t-shirts with DeLay's mugshot on them. This was his big rhetorical flourish to argue that Judge Perkins was unfit to preside over DeLay's case. In fact, MoveOn has never sold any DeLay mugshot t-shirts.
So, no he's not scum for defending DeLay.

Am I the only one thinking how come everybody looks so greasy in the picture?

AWESOME! Keep at em!!

Wow! You're clearly cut out for this. I have to admit that I was vaguely worried about the possibility that your trip wouldn't pan out. Good on you, Lindsay.

He's scum for defending Delay the way Delay wants to be defended - unethically. A lawyer's job is to explain his or her ethical obligations to the client, and if they demand something else, you walk.

so was that smile painted on his face?
or is he like jack nicholson in the tim burton batman movie?

Some gorgeous shots, and I mean the ambient stuff. Who knew Texas could be pretty?

Well done! Did you get any more shots of that bald guy? He really does look like Jimmy/Jeff Gannon/Guckert. I even sent off a copy to John Aravosis, but I haven't heard from him, and might not. He gets a lot of e mail.
