Traditional values

This just in from Julia:

Randy "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. Even so husbands should love their wives as their own bodies, except if you feel like denying her meds that kept her life from being a living hell and making sure you get her knocked up as much as possible because you really want to breed your own baseball team, in which case you should do that" Yates is "very happy" that his wife might be getting a new trial

Any chance that the Bible as marital modeling guide is finished yet? I agree with the poster at Sysiphus Shrugged: Randy Yates is morally complicit in the deaths of his children because of the way he treated his wife.

This is a little unkind, no?

You have two people who, for whatever reason (mental defect, co-dependency, whatever) are struggling with grief, anguish, and depression.

I'm as liberal as the next person, but it seems unkind to me to pile this ridicule and derision on them at this point.

Can't we all just focus on DeLay, Bush, Cheney, (former IL Governor) Ryan, (current IL Governor) G-Rod, et. al.?

No, MP, that's not what we have. What we have is a woman with multiple suicide attempts from severe postpartum psychosis whose doctor had her stabilized, but her husband wanted a really lot of kids so he got their pastor to back him up and bullyragged her (keep in mind this is a woman with multiple toddlers in the house, isolated and not too stable to begin with) into giving up her meds and having more children.

Then he refused to get household help or medical help for her (preferring to "trust in god"), although he knew her condition was serious enough that he wouldn't leave her alone with the kids without his mom watching her.

Then one day mom couldn't come. And Rusty didn't like to take off work.

Rusty is a torturer and a whited sepulchre, and as far as I'm concerned he's far more responsible for their deaths than she is.

He also seemed to enjoy the spotlight, while paradoxicly (sic) betraying almost no human emotion. His blinking ratio was strangely next to nill. A very weird cat.
