Hi Lindsay. It happened around ten days ago. It lasted a day or two. Enjoy your holiday. :)

hey,
typepad had some serious software trouble, which resulted in them posting archived versions of our sites, and then republishing the entire site after the problem was fixed. They had to go through and manually republish each site, so it took a long time to fix the problem. I learned at some point that if you decided to republish your site yourself, it happened faster, so that's what I did... but the problem seems to be resolved now.

Man.....
time to move the hell out of typepad. Is it temporary glitch or trend toward collapsing system overload.
One word: WORDPRESS.

I noticed it too. Apparently, typepad went blooey, and a whole bunch of blogs disappeared. Seems to be working now, though.
Oh, and while I'm here:
Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah/Kwanzaa to all.

it appears all the posts that were lost for about 2 days (which was about 5 days worth), were recovered. i don't think any of your posts were lost. when your page came back, it looked like everything was there.
hope everyone's holidays are as peaceful as possible.

I didn't so much notice it as go looking for it, after reading the article on The Register:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/12/16/typepad_titsup/
After confirming that it had affected you, I emailed you the article reference, the morning of Friday 16th.

Down with single-point-of-failure blogging! I host my blog on my server that sits at the end of my hallway in my house. If anything goes wrong, it's my responsibility and nobody else's.

Lindsay, for what it is worth, right now there are only two posts available at your blog.

Sorry - that isn't correct - there are only two posts on your fontpage. The rest can still be reached through the archive.

As noted, Typepad has been having a world of trouble in the past month. A site I visit in Ireland was down for three days.
Blogspot is not perfect, but I have been happy with it to date.
I hope that Typepad has been reaching out to its users with a reason for the things that have happened and a date when it will be repaired.

Typepad has NOT been reaching out ... radio silence.

Heh. It's been two months and the porn spammer who hacked greatscat still has it, and Desi's still getting no replies to her e-mails. She's on Blogspot at mia culpa, but is very leery of the service now, for obvious reasons. I'd be pretty cranky too if all of a sudden my blog turned into "Tampa Bukkake Links."
FWIW, I do the same thing you do, Alan.

Did all the links change when your posts got erased? Angelica at BattlePanda has a list of everyone who has written about the Cory Maye case, but when I follow her link to your site, I get a 404 Error:
http://majikthise.typepad.com/majikthise_/2005/12/corey_maye.html
Did she have the wrong link to begin with, or has the URL changed since she first added your site to her list?

I did some looking and I've got all the recent stuff in my RSS feed for your site. Those are useful things you know.
