Senate Republicans trying to kill NSA probe

The Senate Intelligence Committee will meet at two-thirty this afternoon to vote on whether to investigate the NSA domestic spying scandal.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has already threatened to restructure break the Intelligence Committee if it votes to conduct hearings. By design, the minority party has more influence within the Intelligence Committee than in any other senate committee.

The swing votes on the committee are Olympia Snowe and Chuck Hagel. According to the latest update on Vichy Dems these senators remain undecided.

You might consider saving a generic article in your drafts titled:

Senate Republicans trying to kill _______.

The Senate _______ Committee will meet at _________ to vote on whether to investigate the ____________ scandal.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist has already threatened to (restructure / break / arrest / torture / sodomize / extraordinarily render) the __________ Committee if it votes to (conduct hearings / investigate wrongdoing / search for the truth / provide justice / do its job).

You get the idea. It'll be a real timesaver. If nothing else you can simply go with

Senate Republicans trying to kill. Period.

When has that not ever been the truth?

It's over. They caved.
