Fake abortion clinics

Foetus #2, originally uploaded by Aaltra.

Amanda has a new article up at AlterNet about fake abortion clinics:

Misleading 'crisis pregnancy centers' are appearing across America, aiming to limit or even prevent women from exploring all of their legal health care options.

Amanda explains how American women are being tricked, and sometimes even harassed and entrapped by bogus crisis pregnancy centers--often at taxpayers' expense.

just don't tell the abortion clinic bombers!

Just chiming in here...Planned Parenthood offers a wide variety of medical services and referrals to social services providers for other needs. and they do charge on a sliding scale. Most importantly, though, Planned Parenthood provides an atmosphere that is apolitical, no matter what their opponents say. I used Planned Parenthood reproductive services and was thoroughly pleased with it. In fact, it was the best-informed, most logical and educational OB-GYN care I've ever received. That'll happen when you base your care around providing all reproductive services through nurse practitioners, rather than doctors. It allows you to give more holistic medical care to people at an affordable cost.

FYI, the Planned Parenthood branch that I frequented didn't offer abortion as a service. And a lot of them don't.
