Crane Accident on E. 13th Street

A four-ton chunk of steel rigging fell off the crane and fell onto a taxi in Manhattan yesterday--amazingly no one was killed.

Fearing that the entire crane might topple over, the authorities evacuated the adjacent buildings and closed several blocks to traffic.
