Was he actually born there, with a midwife, or at a nearby hospital? I would guess he was actually born there.

All three of the King children were born at home. Rev. King, Sr. and his wife were adamant that none of their children would be born in a segregated hospital. So, they brought in a doctor and a midwife for home deliveries.
