Interesting to see him looking "I R SRS ARCHBSHP. THIS R SRS BZNZ." I always expect to see him grinning for some reason. And good to see he's lending his kudos to green causes as well as human rights ones.

I've always liked Desmond Tutu; his chirpy voice, his devotion to freedom, and his commitment to forgiveness.
Well, maybe not so much on that last part. You won't see me lining up a Truth and Reconciliation shindig for Bush and Cheney when their day comes.

Tutu has a great sense of humor. I must admit, was surprised by his comedic chops. He had the whole audience laughing more than once.

Tutu is very funny. For him, laughter tells you something about God. One way to understand him is to realise that his theology is predicated on the existence of a deity with a sense of humour, albeit something of a tragicomic one. I think this is why he thinks forgiveness is almost always possible --- because there is nothing built into the moral universe so dour as to preclude it.
