Irony: Searching paleontological literature with the considerable online resources available through my employer yields surprisingly little material about Columbia. Lots of stuff from digs all over South and Central America, but very little from Columbia. Either Columbia has a paucity of fossil sites owing to geological happenstance or scum like Pablo Escobar have made Columbia an uncongenial place for paleontologists.
