Miles looks like a bear!

Still BFF, it seems.

Is Miles about 3x as big as Dio, or is that just an illusion based on the angle?

segue

I found this gem yesterday, and I do hope that someone else likes it as much as I did.

The Phantom: What a wonderful find! Brought back such incredible memories. Thank you!

Miles looks like a Gund teddy bear. A giant expensive one.

A wolf in sheep's clothing.

Phantom - Very nice. Of course, Long Black Veil is a great enough song that it would sound good even if covered by the Chipmunks.

crost

Agreed. For me, it was the ultimate can't miss situation, as I love the song and each of the singers performing.

What is interesting to me as much as anything is the obvious respect and liking for one another. And why wouldn't they?

There's a lot more like that on youtube for anyone who may be interested. ( many great musicians performed on the Johnny Cash show )

And as a parting shot on this segue with a post, here's Johnny and Joni back at you.

I'm a sucker for folk songs narrated by a deceased person. As a casual Cash fan, however, I'm only aware of two recordings he did of this one, both very imperfect (the 1960s studio version, and the Folsom Prison album). Does anyone know of another?

Just did some searching.

And listened to the 1960s studio version, which yeah is just so so.

They do apparently have a DVD of the Cash TV show which includes theJohnny Cash - Joni Mitchell version of Long Black Veil, which is very good news indeed. Have just learned this. At $9.97 it would be wrong not to buy this. Other songs aren't the worst I've ever heard either.

I've always respected the version done by Mick Jagger, with the Chieftains
