Progressive Geoghegan garners coveted DFA endorsement

Labor lawyer and progressive activist Tom Geoghegan gets the coveted Democracy For America endorsement in his bid to replace Rahm Emanuel as the Congressman for Illinois' 5th District.

From the DFA pres release:

Democracy for America is a key endorsement in this race, bringing donations from progressives and providing volunteers to participate in door-to-door, grassroots outreach. DFA has helped elect over 550 progressives to office, from Governor Deval Patrick in Massachusetts to Rep. Donna Edwards in Maryland''s 4th Congressional District.

"I am greatly honored to get the support of DFA,"" said Geoghegan. ""It cannot be overstated the importance DFA has had in transforming American politics. In just four years, they've helped make the Internet a new political tool that allows insurgent candidates to have a chance in elections where we previously would not been able to compete.

I just finished Geoghegan's classic memoir of life as a Chicago labor lawyer, Which Side Are You On?. Highly recommended for its sardonic humor and perceptive analysis of the plight of American organized labor.
