Fox News: A totally legitmate news outlet

One fake news show spots another. Jon Stewart catches Sean Hannity's producer trying to pass off footage of Glenn Beck's 70,000 teabagger march as Michelle Bachmann's 10,000 teabagger Superbowl of Freedom:

LOL! It's not enough to simply say lies, they have to have through and through dishonest coverage.

Fox News also edits video of news events without a flash-of-light or anything to indicate the edit:

February 9, 2006

Fox News' Special Report with Brit Hume showed an edited video clip of Rev. Joseph Lowery's remarks at Coretta Scott King's funeral, during which he mentioned the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Lowery's remarks were greeted with 23 seconds of applause and a standing ovation, but the clip Fox News aired presented nine seconds of applause and little hint of the standing ovation without noting that the clip had been doctored.

After seeing the clip, Roll Call's Morton Kondracke concluded that the audience "wasn't exactly uproarious in its response" to Lowery.

And Hannity actually says "Jon Stewart, you were right."" rel="nofollow

Nice to see that stupid blowhard Hannity forced to eat crow for once.

I'm not surprised to see the staff at Fox missed the foliage change. It's been my experience that, excepting some hook and bullet types who view the natural world as a larder, your modern “conservative” is generally astonishingly, spectacularly, oblivious of the most basic elements of natural history. Hannity's staff probably have some vague understanding that there are conifers and angiosperm trees and that one group tends to shed leaves and the other doesn't, but they doubtless wouldn't know what to make of a larch or salt cedar. It's hardly any wonder that right wingers are implacably hostile to any and all environmental legislation or even awareness. And it follows directly that they're completely and deliberately ignorant of 150 years of scientific progress since C. Darwin's seminal publication. I doubt if in their whole lives, the entire collective staff of Fox news has spent more than fifteen minutes altogether pondering the ecological and evolutionary reasons why some plants shed leaves and others don't, much less what that might mean. (google “decidous leaves evolution”)

Oh, I forgot: nothing evolved and ecology/natural history are conceits of hippy faggot tree-huggers.
